Learn To Sing - great success
Our one day singing course in Kenilworth and the following 6 week eveining course in Coventry have been a great success with over 20 singers staying the course.
They've polished off 4 songs and are set to do their first concert next week.
We're hoping they stay with us a while longer!!!
We had a wonderful rehearsal experience with Gary Plaag an American Barbershopper and renown international presentation coach on 30th August.
Gary, who has won a number of gold medals in American Barbershop competitions over the years, helped us with a few songs and gave us tips on how to better entertain our audiences.
A fantastic night and a great privilege to be working with such a renown singer and coach.
The club put on a great show at Warwick folk festival supporting the Spooky Mens Chorale. With an audience of getting on for 800 people, we went through 40 minute set of our most popular songs. A great audience reaction with applause and cheers. Fantasic fun.
Well - how can we put it? It could have gone better - in terms of scores and positions that is. We had a bit of a tussle with the 'music' judges. Hard to explain, but it was a bit like having an illegal engine in Formula 1 and having to do an extra lap or two - you just ain't going to win are you. Know what I mean.
Otherwise all went well. Beer drank, songs sung - good company and great fun. We sang best in the bus shelter though.
Next time we'll knock 'em dead.
